Greek Chicken Meatballs with Homemade Tzatziki Sauce

A fresh, protein-packed Mediterranean dish that is perfect for a light dinner or meal prep.

Ingredients

For the Chicken Meatballs:
1 lb Ground chicken
1/4 cup Breadcrumbs (panko or plain)
1/4 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
1 Large egg (to bind)
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1 tsp Dried oregano
1/2 tsp Lemon zest
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: 1/4 cup crumbled Feta cheese for extra tang.
For the Homemade Tzatziki Sauce:
1 cup Greek yogurt (plain)
1 Medium cucumber (grated and squeezed to remove excess water)
1 tbsp Fresh dill, finely chopped
1 tbsp Lemon juice
1 clove Garlic, minced

Instructions

Prep the Meatballs: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, oregano, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined (don't overwork the meat).
Form & Cook: Shape the mixture into golf-ball-sized rounds.
Air Fryer: Cook at 200°C (400°F) for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
Oven: Bake at 200°C (400°F) on a parchment-lined tray for 18–20 minutes.
Make the Sauce: While the meatballs cook, stir together the Greek yogurt, squeezed cucumber, dill, lemon juice, and garlic in a small bowl. Season with a pinch of salt.
Serve: Serve the warm meatballs with a generous dollop of cold Tzatziki. They pair beautifully with pita bread, sliced cucumbers, and cherry tomatoes.
Engagement Boosters
Healthy & Low-Carb: Great for those looking for high-protein options!
Flavor Tip: Letting the Tzatziki sit in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving makes the flavors much bolder.
