Spicy Marinated Beef Bites Perfectly charred, juicy, and packed with a kick!
Prep time: 15 minutes (+ 30 mins marinating)
Cook time: 8–10 minutes
Servings: 2–4
Ingredients
1 lb (500g) Sirloin or Ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch cubes2 tbsp Soy sauce (for umami)
1 tbsp Sriracha or Chili garlic sauce (adjust for heat)
1 tbsp Honey or Brown sugar (to balance the spice)
1 tbsp Olive oil or Sesame oil
3 cloves Garlic, minced
1 tsp Fresh ginger, grated
1/2 tsp Red chili flakes (optional, for extra heat)
Garnish: Sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Prepare the MarinadeIn a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sriracha, honey, oil, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes. This mixture will tenderize the beef while infusing it with deep flavor.
2. Marinate the Beef
Add the beef cubes to the bowl. Toss well to ensure every piece is coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for a deeper flavor).
3. Sear to Perfection
Heat a large cast-iron skillet or non-stick pan over high heat. You want the pan smoking hot to get a good crust. Add the beef in a single layer (do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary).
4. The Quick Cook
Let the bites sear undisturbed for 2 minutes to get a dark, caramelized crust. Toss and cook for another 2–3 minutes until the edges are charred but the center remains juicy.
5. Glaze and Serve
If there is leftover marinade in the bowl, pour it into the pan during the last 60 seconds of cooking to create a sticky glaze. Transfer to a plate and top with green onions and sesame seeds.
Pro Tips for "Bold Flavor"
Pat it Dry: Before marinating, pat the beef dry with paper towels so the marinade sticks better.
The High Heat Rule: Do not cook on medium heat! High heat is essential to get that "restaurant-style" charred exterior without overcooking the inside.
Serving Suggestion: Serve these with a side of cool garlic yogurt sauce or lime wedges to cut through the heat.
